Lowdrive Release New Album "Rise"
Rise is the 2nd album from Sheffield Hard Rock band Lowdrive. Featuring 10 brand news songs the album has an incredible sound thanks in part to Sue Gere’s clear mix which allows the songs to shine without losing any of their power. The title track and first single ‘ Rise ‘ is a great example of this as is the epic ‘ Shield Wall’ . Always a live favourite but now available for the first time officially on this release. The performances on this recording show a band at the top of their game with the songs to back it up. Recorded post pandemic this release shows the band hasn’t lost any of its onstage energy during the recording process.
The album is full of hard hitting riff heavy songs with great vocals and thought provoking lyrics. Recorded at Noiseworks Studios , Rotherham and mixed and mastered by Sue Gere at Hybrid Recordings , Tordera , Catalunya , Spain.
The band have a wide variety of influences which aren’t always as obvious and just stating band names to compare them to. There are hints of psychedelia , punk and stoner rock all rolled in to what is definitely a hard rock album. Vocalist Sawf has worked hard on the lyrics focusing on themes he see’s in the world around him today while guitarist John concentrates on coming up with the best riffs possible. Overall the band are all about the songs and believe without great songs it doesn’t matter what you’re playing or saying.
Formed in the summer of 2016 Lowdrive is a hard rock band from Sheffield , England. The band released their debut album “ Roller “ via Cargo Records , London in February 2018 and hit the road immediately afterwards to promote the release playing shows all over the UK and out into Europe. They have shared stages a wealth of bands including Black Spiders , All Them Witches , King Buffalo , Skindred , The Wildhearts and Skid Row to name a few. Their music is riff heavy with hints of psychedelic , stoner rock and punk all thrown in to the mix. The bands debut album and live shows received excellent reviews and has seen the band gain a growing number of supporters around the globe. In September 2023 Lowdrive will release their brand new album “Rise” once again through Cargo Records London for CD and Digital . The vinyl release is being handled by Jet Glow Recordings , Italy . The band are at their best on stage and dates are currently being booked to promote this new album with several shows and festivals already confirmed.
