JETBOY releases cover of Russ Ballard’s “Since You Been Gone”

San Francisco hard rockers Jetboy has just released a cover of Russ Ballard’s “Since You Been Gone” on Cleopatra Records. The song was originally written by Ballard, who was a former guitarist for the British rock band Argent, and appeared on his 1976 solo album “Winning.” However, it was Rainbow’s version of the song, released on their 1979 album “Down To Earth,” that became the most well-known.

Jetboy was formed in 1983 in San Francisco, but it was after they moved to LA in the late 80s that they gained fame. They are often considered one of the bands from the second wave of 80s hard rock acts that emerged on the Hollywood Sunset Strip scene, alongside bands such as Guns N’ Roses, LA Guns, Faster Pussycat, and Junkyard. These bands are known for their sleazy and street-rock-oriented sound.
