Guns N’ Roses Add More 2023 Tour Dates
Guns N’ Roses aren’t quite finished with their massive world tour. The band confirmed four more shows on Friday, extending their current North American leg to the end of October. The new shows are set for Alberta, Idaho, Utah, and Denver. Special guests for the newly announced shows will be confirmed soon. Check out the full itinerary below.
Tickets will be available starting with the Nightrain pre-sale beginning on September 18. Additional pre-sales will run throughout the week. The general on-sale begins on September 20 at 10am local time at gunsnroses.com.
Guns N’ Roses kicked off the North American leg of their 2023 world tour last month with two shows in Canada. Country music superstar and frequent collaborator Carrie Underwood was the band’s special guest. During her set, she played to her audience, busting out rock covers by Joan Jett, Motörhead, Led Zeppelin, Pat Benatar, Heart, and The Rolling Stones. During GnR’s set, Underwood joined them for “Sweet Child o’ Mine” and “Paradise City.” She also performed with Guns N’ Roses on August 26 at GEODIS Park in Nashville.
In October, Guns N’ Roses are performing at Power Trip in Indio, California. Fellow rock icons Metallica, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, AC/DC, and Tool. On November 5, Guns N’ Roses will conclude their tour with a headlining stand at Heaven & Hell Festival in Mexico City.
Guns N’ Roses recently revealed a brand new song called “Perhaps.” The song was originally conceived during the Chinese Democracy recording sessions in the early 2000s. It is only the band’s second new piece of recorded material in the last 15 years. A physical version of “Perhaps” is available on a 7″ vinyl via Geffen. The B-Side of the record contains another new song, “The General.” Fans can pre-order a vinyl copy now, which ships on October 27. To commemorate the release, the band has also put out a “Perhaps” merch line which includes a t-shirts, a hoodie, a long-sleeve shirt, and a Magic 8-Ball.
In 2021, Guns N’ Roses came out with a new EP Hard Skool. It was the first time in 28 years that vocalist Axl Rose, guitarist Slash, and bassist Duff McKagan collaborated together on new material together. The trio was accompanied on the new studio effort by the current members of the GNR lineup, which is completed by guitarist Richard Fortus and drummer Frank Ferrer, as well as keyboardists Dizzy Reed and Melissa Reese. The EP also features “Absurd,” a re-worked track from the Chinese Democracy sessions, as well as live recordings of the band’s ‘91 power ballad “Don’t Cry” and “You’re Crazy” from their seminal debut LP Appetite For Destruction. Released back in August of 2021, “Absurd” was the first new Guns N’ Roses song in 13 years.
The band’s last proper studio outing was Chinese Democracy. Their sixth album, it was finally released on November 23, 2008 via Black Frog/Geffen after various lineup shifts and label issues. Prior to that, the last Guns N’ Roses album of original material was their massive double album Use Your Illusions I and Use Your Illusions II, released in September of 1991.
