SIN CIRCUS Release Debut Album "Sin Circus VII"

July 23, 2020

VII is the debut album of Sin Circus, combining a wide range of Metal sounds to create our own unique sound. The album was recorded over two years from early 2018 to mid 2020, during this time Sin Circus have worked closely with Producer James Routh who has realised their vision of the album in exquisite quality. The album features hard hitting riffs, drums and vocals. The eight songs on the albums explore the themes of the Seven Deadly Sins. The album has received positive feedback from the northwest metal community and will have a physical release later in the year.

Sin Circus hail from Blackpool in the Northwest of England. Founded by singer Vicky Spencer and drummer Luke Fox when the bands they were in at the time both broke up. The vision was to create a band who were more than another shoe gazing metal band. In late 2015 Vicky recruited Luis Gutarra to the band as a guitarist and shortly after Jake Tyndall also joined as bassist. In 2015 Sin Circus also had Kieran Thornton on Guitar he would later leave the band to persue a new project in 2017 with Kyle Wilson who would for a short while also play keys in Sin Circus.

In March 2016 Sin Circus debutted at The Waterloo Music Bar in Blackpool, this was the first of many shows in Blackpool and soon after establishing themselves Sin Circus began reaching out and playing in other venues in and out of town including, Sanctuary (Burnley), The Pub (Lancaster), The Tache (Blackpool), The Ferret (Preston), The Fox and Newt (Leeds), The Lord Charles Napier (Blackburn), Boulevard (Wigan) and The Alma (Bolton).

In June 2017 Sin Circus released their debut studio recording, a 5 track EP entitled 'Bored EP'. This recording would feature, Vicky, Luis, Jake, Luke, Kieran and Kyle and was recorded and mixed at Rock Hard Studios in Blackpool and mastered by Kyle Wilson. This release features songs such as This Sin, Personal Doll and I'm Bored and was well received selling over 100 hard copies and having thousands of plays online. Bored EP was a hard and thrashy sound showcasing the early Sin Circus sound.

Sin Circus continued to play many shows and work on writing and finishing the debut album. Sin Circus have been fortunate to play many shows alongside very talented bands in the local and regional scene including; Sinnergod, The Dead XIII, Ward XVI, Soldato, Twisted Obsession, Another Dead Hero, Daybreaker, Phantom Sea, Black Eddy, Avarus, Sometime The Wolf, and Swedish metallers We Are the Catalyst.

In 2018 Sin Circus re-entered the studio to record their debut album. Working alongside producer James Routh the album slowly took form and on December 25th 2018, Sin Circus released a single of 'Pied Piper'. Well received and highly praised this was followed by a music video release filmed and produced by Luke Robin Films. The Music video would feature guitarist Ayrton Tracey who joined the band in 2018 as a live guitarist. In early 2020 'VII' was completed and sent for mastering to be release on July 7th 2020.

Sin Circus currently have no shows booked due to the ongoing pandemic however will be returning to the stage in late 2020/early 2021 with a brand new lineup and live show and plan to begin work on their second album in mid 2021.
