The Stadium Tour sold more than 700,000 tickets and grossed over $90 million on first weekend sales

The Stadium Tour featuring Def Leppard and Mötley Crüe with Poison and Joan Jett & The Blackhearts has sold more than 700,000 tickets and grossed over $90 million at the box office in the first weekend of sales.

The tour, which is promoted by Live Nation, saw the fastest sellout in Miller Park history in Milwaukee, according to a press release.

Additional shows sold out instantly in Atlanta, Seattle, Charlotte, Dallas, Pittsburgh, Detroit, Chicago and Denver.

In response to the fan demand, seven new shows in San Antonio, Kansas City, St. Louis, Minneapolis, Nashville, Cincinnati and Cleveland were announced.

The added tour dates will begin pre-sales on Jan. 6.

“The word on the street was that fans were overly excited about this stadium tour even before it was announced,” said Def Leppard’s Joe Elliott in a statement.

He added:

“Well it’s out there now and it keeps getting bigger and bigger. This is going to be a monster of a tour!”
