We each choose our own path and thread our own walkway. This sentiment is what gathered Walkways to play together and start making a path of their own. With a blend of everything that is relevant on the verge of heavy and alternative music, Walkways came like a storm to the Israeli metal scene. A rising tide on the shores of Tel Aviv's hectic way of life, Walkways have captured the hearts and minds of thousands both locally and internationally.
Walkways is an alternative metal band based in Tel Aviv, Israel. The band started off in 2006 under a different moniker and line-up but solidified in 2010. The band is driven with a goal to keep sane and evolve into more humane and moral people while writing their music - the soundtrack of the highs and lows of their lives.
After 2018 performances with In Flames as main support for their European summer tour and supporting Avenged Sevenfold in Israel, large international festivals (Wacken Open Air 2015, ARTmania 2017) and sharing the stage with many more international metal acts such as Devin Townsend Project, Jinjer, Tarja, Chelsea Grin and Texas in July - the band is now ready to release their new album and take it on the road!
About the new album "Bleed Out, Heal Out" due to be released on June 14th 2019:
Following the 2013 debut album "Safe In Sound", Walkways are ready to break out in 2019 with their second full length album - "Bleed Out, Heal Out". A genre-bending record, displaying a wide array of songs that come from personal experiences, to bring out all the causes and emotions that inspired the texts which tell the familiar stories of dealing with the natural impulses of the human mind, and maintaining an aware and controlled mind.
The album journeys through six chapters.
It begins with a heart break and a deep disappointment, goes into a struggle with the urge to avenge and let a darker side take over, from there comes the chapter of release and unchaining from the burden of trauma. Then comes the step of letting someone new in to your life, the stage of loving again. Following that is a contemplation of the outside world - being horrified by our ways as human beings (wars, environmental pollution and animal abuse) and a strong desire to correct and evolve as one and a shout out to change as a whole.
To end the album, there is a recurring chapter of convergence due to the shock from the outside world, which is again flooded with great disappointment and a kind of despair from the current situation, but the deep desire to correct and transcend the internal and external chaos is always preserved.
