FREEDOM CALL ""M.E.T.A.L." Album Review
Led by Vocalist/guitarist Chris Bay, Germany's Freedom Call have been kicking out their brand of power metal for going on twenty years, after several studio/live albums Freedom Call may have just released their strongest effort yet. Rounding out the lineup is new bassist Francesco Ferraro, drummer Timmi Breideband, long time guitarist Lars Rettkowitz.
"M.E.T.A.L." is chock full of anthemic metal gems, starting with the lead off single/video "M.E.T.A.L." a feast of strength, an ageless ode for the love of all things metal. If this one doesn't have you singing along then check your metal card at the door. And that scream after the chorus is fan-f'n- tastic! "Fly With Us" is everything a great power metal song should be. "One Step Into Wonderland" a joyous, bombastic fairytale. The thunderous "Wheel of Time" is a triumphant, chorus driven beauty. "M.E.T.A.L." hits all the marks, and then some!

It’s obvious from the very first note that M.E.T.A.L. has turned into a release that’s bound to please Freedom Call fans in every respect. “Everybody who’s heard the album has told us that some of the tracks could easily have featured on our first recordings,” Chris Bay explains with some pride, adding: “To me such statements are a big compliment because they imply that there’s a typical musical fingerprint, characteristic Freedom Call DNA that we’ve remained faithful to.”
