AIRBOURNE "Breakin' Outta Hell" Album Review

August 11, 2019

Mighty bearers of the stadium-rock torch, Airbourne have unleashed their fourth studio album, Breakin' Outta Hell. Produced by Bob Marlette, who helmed the very first Airbourne outing, & engineered / mixed by Mike Fraser(Aerosmith, AC/DC, etc.).

The band has spent the past 12 years establishing themselves as a true force of nature living on the road, selling out major venues, charting albums and appearing on bills with some of rocks most legendary names, from Iron Maiden to the Rolling Stones.

“Breakin' Outta Hell" recaptures the heads down, shot glass raucousness of early Ac/dc. Of course, the comparison doesn’t end there, these fellow Aussies I’m sure, spent their youth, taking notes  from early Ac/dc albums like “High Voltage” and “Powerage” plotting their future claim to rock n roll glory.

“Breakin' Outta Hell” finds Airbourne enjoying themselves once again , finding their pocket, laying down mesmerizing grooves through simple but brilliant tracks like “Breakin' Outta Hell” “It's All For Rock n Roll” (a tribute to the late great Motorhead frontman Lemmy) and "I'm Going to Hell For This". It rock n rolls with a confident pride that defies criticism.  It’s musical purity, the grit and angst of Bon Scott and Angus rolled into one kick ass modern day rock n roll album.
