MÖTLEY CRÜE Biopic 'The Dirt' To Arrive March 22nd via Netflix

The film adaptation of MÖTLEY CRÜE's biography, "The Dirt - Confessions Of The World's Most Notorious Rock Band", will be released on March 22, according to Vince Neil. The movie, which is being helmed by "Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa" director Jeff Tremaine, was picked up by Netflix after being previously developed at Focus Features and before that at Paramount.

The MÖTLEY CRÜE frontman revealed "The Dirt" release date in a tweet on Sunday (December 2). He wrote: "Wow!!! Just left Netflix offices. Just saw 'The Dirt' movie!! Fuckin awesome!! Can't wait for everyone to see it! Released March 22!! Yea!!!"

MÖTLEY CRÜE recently recorded four new songs for "The Dirt" movie. Bassist Nikki Sixxdescribed the recordings as "real and raw. Everybody is playing like mad and the songs crush," he wrote on Twitter. "[Producer] Bob Rock brought the sounds. Plus we have a surprise that will confirm that we're outta our minds."

The movie will reportedly star Daniel Webber ("The Punisher") as Neil, Douglas Booth as Sixx, Machine Gun Kelly as drummer Tommy Lee, and Iwan Rheon ("Game Of Thrones") as guitarist Mick Mars. Playing rock and roll legend Ozzy Osbourne in the film is actor-comedian Tony Cavalero, while Rebekah Graf ("The Amityville Murders", "Lycan") is playing actress Heather Locklear, ex-wife of Tommy Lee.

"The Dirt" is being produced by LBI Entertainment's Julie Yorn and Rick Yorn, along with Erik Olsen and Amanda Adelson, who wrote the script.

Neil previously told Las Vegas Magazine that "The Dirt" movie script stays "pretty close to 'The Dirt', so if you've read 'The Dirt', it's really something to look forward to."

Asked how it struck him that he would be seeing an actor playing him on screen, Vince said: "That's gonna be strange. It's funny, I saw the table read of the last script. They have these different actors playing each person, and even just the table read of the script was weird when the Vince guy was talking. [Laughs] It wasn't the guy that's gonna play me, but it was just kind of weird hearing somebody say your words. It's a bit of a trip."
