Band Bio

Recker was formed as a solo project in 2009 with the intent of releasing songs independently on the internet. Beginning in August of 2008 Rich collaborated with his long time drummer Scott Smallwood on the 6 tracks that eventually became "Vita-Amore-Destino" (Italian for "Life-Love-Destiny"). The CD was released through online distributor CD Baby and resonated with listeners, eventually becoming a CD Baby "top seller".

After releasing Vita-Amore-Destino, recording and production began for a follow-up CD. "Tragedy or Triumph", was a return to roots, with heavier riffs and darker themes. Upon its release in 2010, Tragedy or Triumph instantly became a CD Baby top seller and received critical praise for its "old school" hard rock sound.

2012 saw the release of the "Believe" EP which pulled elements from the first two CD's for a combination of heavy hitting riffs with commercial accessibility. 2012 was also the live debut of Recker. A handful of gigs in the Vancouver, WA area proved that the recorded material translated well to a live environment and earned Recker a reputation in the local scene as a live force to be reckoned with.

Fresh from the live shows, Recker recorded the "Let It Rock" EP; another 5 song showcase to their throwback 80’s sound. Along with the classic riffs and sing along choruses, the cover featured the Recker logo in a classic Marshall amplifier look quickly making “Let It Rock” a fan favorite.

After a brief hiatus in 2014, a revamped line up including Damon Gray and Tommy “Stixx” Slaughter (both formerly of Wikid Sin) hit the stage again. The band closed out the year with a few select shows in the Portland-Vancouver area and climbed to the #4 spot on Reverbnation’s local “hard rock” chart.

2015 was a pivotal year for the band. New music and opening slots for Quiet Riot, Y & T, and Jack Russell's Great White cemented the band's status as a fixture on the Portland hard rock scene. The band also earned a “featured artist” spot on Reverbnation with their song “Let It Rock” and spent several weeks at the #1 spot on Reverbnation's local hard rock chart.

The addition of Pete Brun to the lineup - in late 2015 - fine tuned the live attack. After a brief hiatus, to regroup and refine their sound, the band hit the stage again in support of Lynch Mob. Continued gigging in 2016; including a spot at the Northwest Hard Rock Invitational (at the prestigious Roseland Theater) and an opening slot for Texas Hippie Coalition found the band winning over new fans to their old school sound.

If you are local to the Portland area be sure to catch the band live. Until then….crank the amps…kill the lights…. and Let It Rock!
