The New Wave Of Hair Metal Weekend News Report June 9, 2018

Welcome once again to the Weekend News Report. It was another scorching hot week in the genre of modern hair/sleaze/glam. As summer draws closer the events are picking up and the news is heating up.
The opening story this week is the May video/single contest that ended on June 3rd. Lipz took home the #1 spot with their video "Get It On". The previous month they came in third with the video "Scaryman". It's awesome to see them climb in the voting. Kissin' Dynamite came in second with their video "I've Got The Fire". And Snakebite came in third with the video "Beyond The Rust". The month of May was an awesome one. And I have to thank every band that released a video/single that month.
The Sweden Rock Fest kicked off this week on June 6th. It featured acts such as Iron Maiden, Ozzy Osbourne, Judas Priest, and dozens of other major global acts. It also featured a few Swedish sleaze bands. 🇸🇪Hardcore Superstar🇸🇪 headlined the opening night. 🇸🇪Crazy Lixx🇸🇪 and 🇸🇪H.E.A.T.🇸🇪 played on the 7th. And 🇸🇪Crashdiet🇸🇪 played this afternoon. A big congratulations to those band's.
In 🇫🇮Santa Cruz🇫🇮 news, Archie just took his first vocal lesson with the legendary vocal coach Ron Anderson through Skype. Ron has worked with some high caliber stars such as Axl Rose, Anthony Keidis, Adam Levine, and countless others. Archie said in his post that he "never really considered himself a singer, just an axe-slinger and a performer who happened to yell at the mic". He said that he's really stoked to get his voice and technique to the next level.

The debut album from 🇸🇪Lipz🇸🇪 "Scaryman" sold out in Japan after one week! 🇳🇴NiteRain🇳🇴 will be playing this year's Cruefest in Hollywood on July 28th. 🇫🇮Reckless Love🇫🇮 and the 🇫🇮Temple Balls🇫🇮 are playing the Metal Life Starit on the weekend of the 15th and 16th. 🇫🇮Rust N' Rage🇫🇮 are playing at the Hattula Pavet tonight. 🇫🇮Shiraz Lane🇫🇮 jammed at the Rock Fest in Hyvinkaa on Thursday night. 🇸🇪Strykenine🇸🇪 are playing at the Pub Anchor on June 13th. 🇳🇴SUiCiDE BOMBERS🇳🇴 are playing in Oslo on June 14th at the Aye Aye club. 🇳🇴Wildnite🇳🇴 played the Unddomsfestivalen in Gjerdrum on Friday night.

🇬🇧DAMN DICE🇬🇧 drummer, Francois, joined the London Drumstick Company and will soon get his own signature series stick. 🇮🇪W.A.L.K.E.R.🇮🇪 played at the Soundhouse in Dublin last night.

🇫🇷BlackRain🇫🇷 are back on June 14th for a rockin' show at the Pop Art in Dijon, France. There will be another reading from the "Road Paved With Gold" 🇩🇪Kissin' Dynamite🇩🇪 book on June 13th at the Cocoon Hotel in Munich. 🇩🇪Night Laser🇩🇪 are sharing the stage with their friends in the Scumdogz at the Bunker Minden tonight in Germany.
Eastern Europe, Baltic, and European Russia:
🇨🇿Double Raw🇨🇿 played the Steirer Ink Festival in Austria last night. 🇨🇿Hairy Groupies🇨🇿 played at the Harley-Davidson Brno club 55th anniversary party on the 8th. 🇷🇺Stripped Guns🇷🇺 will be doing an acoustic show as well as a meet & greet on Sunday (June 10th) at the Jack and Jane bar in Moscow, and 🇷🇺Bosphorus Night🇷🇺 will be opening for them.

🇮🇹Hell In The Club🇮🇹 will be in Spain on July 1st. 🇪🇸Jolly Joker🇪🇸 are playing with the Sykko Dollz on June 30th at the Sanctuary Burnley. 🇮🇹Sandness🇮🇹 are playing the Padova Metal Fest on August 8th. 🇮🇹Speed Stroke🇮🇹 guitarist, D.B., celebrated his birthday yesterday.

🇦🇺Black Alpine🇦🇺 have new songs written, and they'll be doing some more recording this year. 🇦🇺Catalano🇦🇺 posted a video of R.J. playing some licks from an up coming track. Don't forget that they'll be opening for HCSS on June 15th at the Prince Bandroom in Melbourne. 🇦🇺Snake Bite Whisky🇦🇺 have two big shows coming up on the 14th & 16th.
