Welcome once again to the Weekend News Report. Coming at you every Saturday to give you the updates on all of the latest happenings in the genre of modern hair metal. There are a lot of new faces here, and I would like to once again thank the awesome people at Hairbandheaven.rocks for sharing this every week. I would also like to thank the other music pages that have shared the article from them.
So many things happened this week, and so many things are happening today! Let's start with the Sleazefest in Bochum, Germany that is taking place tonight. The Sleazefest is LOADED with superstars! If it were a sporting event, it would be an all-star game.
The roster plays out like this:

This is a sleaze metal extravaganza that will go on all night long. Germany is known for it's intense metal concerts. The band's are all pumped up for this, and the fan's are coming from all over (some are flying in from the US) to be at this event. I'm dripping with envy of those that can attend. TNWOHM will be throwing a party and dedicating it to this event.
The HRH AOR is another HUGE happening this weekend in the UK. In terms of size, it's much larger than the Sleazefest as it features Skid Row and other artists of that magnitude. It started on the 8th, and today is the last day of it. The festival featured band's like 🇸🇪Cruzh🇸🇪, 🇸🇪Eclipse🇸🇪, 🇬🇧Midnite City🇬🇧, 🇬🇧Nasty High🇬🇧, and 🇧🇪Wildheart🇧🇪. They'll be apart of the tribute party here as well.
If you're in Germany, but you live too far from Bochum, you can always go see 🇩🇪Night Lazer🇩🇪 & 🇩🇪Pyrus🇩🇪 play in Munich for the "Glam Metal In The Universe" show. Once these events are over, we have ANOTHER huge...HUGE event to look forward to: The Wildfest. Belgium. April 21. Be there. Who is on the roster? 🇱🇻Bloody Heels🇱🇻, 🇸🇪Confess🇸🇪, 🇳🇴The Cruel Intentions🇳🇴 are making their first ever trip to Belgium to play it. 🇸🇪Bulletrain🇸🇪 are on the bill, but I have to admit that I'm not sure if this is their first visit to Belgium or not? Hard rock superstars 🇸🇪Eclipse🇸🇪 are on the bill, along with 🇧🇪Wildheart🇧🇪 who are involved every year. 🇧🇪Mr Myst🇧🇪 are a local band from Belgium who are playing as well. This is the third year for the festival and it grows every year. They've had band's such as Kissin' Dynamite and Crazy Lixx play in the past. This festival is turning into a "must play at" event for this genre.
Olli Herman & Pepe from 🇫🇮Reckless Love🇫🇮 are doing an acoustic special at the Kings Crown in Kuopio tonight. Olli spent last weekend with 🇫🇮The Local Band🇫🇮. You can check out pictures and a live video of them performing the Guns N' Roses classic "Nightrain". Absent from the band was Archie Cruz who is on tour with his band 🇫🇮Santa Cruz🇫🇮 (more on them in a bit).
🇫🇷BlackRain🇫🇷 have shot a new music video while they were out on their mini-tour. The tour will end tonight once the Sleazefest is over, but you will see plenty more of the Paris Powerhouses in 2018.
🇮🇹17Crash🇮🇹 have their new lyric video for the title track of their up coming album "Hit The Prey" out due out on March 30th. You can pre-order the album right now. But on March 16th they are releasing their second video/single for the song "Rum The Night". And for their American fan's, there is a Facebook page called "17 Crash American Fan club" that you can follow to get all of the latest information about the band.
🇳🇴The Cruel Intentions🇳🇴 will be in Stockholm in July. Join them for an unforgettable Friday the 13th show at the Harry B. James Crazy Nights rock club. 🇦🇺Catalano🇦🇺 will be making the journey from Australia to be the support act. Let's keep our fingers crossed for a TCI & Catalano tour!
🇨🇦Love Razer🇨🇦 posted the artwork for their up coming debut album "Border City Rebels" due out on April 23rd. The cover was done by artist Gisel Ippoliti. She has done art for Hardcore Superstar, The Cruel Intentions, as well as other features. She is getting very well known in this genre. So far she has worked with extremely good company.
You talked about sleaze metal, you talked about glam metal, and you talked about merry metal. But what about melodic hard rock?
The Young Three Of Melodic Hard Rock News segment (🇫🇮Santa Cruz🇫🇮, 🇫🇮Shiraz Lane🇫🇮, 🇱🇻Bloody Heels🇱🇻):
Santa Cruz spent the entire week on the road in the US on the Fozzy - Judas Rising tour, and they played in three states this week! They left Texas on Sunday night after four shows there. Then they did two night's in Arizona. Followed by the show in San Diego, California last night! Tonight they'll be at the world famous Whisky in Los Angeles for show #8 of the tour. Their hit "Fire Running Through Our Veins" has a lyric video added to it to help push the single in the US.
Heading over to Finland, Shiraz Lane are headlining the MariRock in Helsinki tonight. Their new album "Carnival Days" was the #3 album sold in Finland this week. And they'll be opening for Crashdiet in Stockholm on the 30th. Heading down Riga, Latvia, Bloody Heels have been working on their new video for the song "Through Mystery". They have the Wildfest on April 21st. And for their Czech Republic fans, they'll be in Prague on the 19th.

🇨🇦Dextress🇨🇦 played the Jim Beam Make History Talent Search in Edmonton on Thursday. Unfortunately they didn't win. 🇺🇸Love N' Revenge🇺🇸 guitarist Greg Polcar celebrated his birthday on the 5th. 🇺🇸Love Stallion🇺🇸 will be releasing their video/single for the song "Slow Release" on March 15th. The release party for the album "Unforgettable Ride" is on June 2nd. 🇺🇸Once Around🇺🇸 have their dates set for their "Leaving Home" tour. Tickets are available. 🇨🇦Sleazy Way Out🇨🇦 will be opening for the legendary Michael Schenker at the Club Soda in Montreal, Quebec. 🇺🇸Station🇺🇸 are another band to post their artwork for their up coming album "More Than The Moon". The album will be released in April, but at this moment there is no set date.
🇺🇸Steel Panther🇺🇸 are at the Knitting Factory in Spokane tonight. They have new t-shirts available on their page. 🇺🇸WICKED🇺🇸 are playing at the Chrome tonight. 🇺🇸Wildstreet🇺🇸 had a video release party for "Raise Hell" and did a little filming for an episode of Vamp Bikers that is soon to be on Netflix.
Northern Europe (Nordic countries):
🇸🇪Aerodyne🇸🇪 bassist Timmy Kan has left the group. The band are writing new material for their next album. The next 🇸🇪Crashdiet🇸🇪 concert will be on March 30th in Stockholm. And of course Shiraz Lane will be opening up the show. Is it possible that we witnessed the new album cover for 🇸🇪Hardcore Superstar🇸🇪??? Today they doing an exclusive signing session at SHOCK, Drottninggatan 81A, Stockholm. 🇸🇪H.E.A.T.🇸🇪 bassist Jimmy Jay celebrated his birthday on the 5th. Hope it rocked, dude! 🇫🇮Serpico🇫🇮 released their new album "Rock Tattoo" on the 9th. 🇳🇴SUiCiDE BOMBERS🇳🇴 have a new lead guitarist! Let's welcome Stevie Teaze to the fold.
United Kingdom (UK) and Ireland:
The big news in the UK is the HRH AOR festival. This section will be much smaller than usual since it's already been discussed. 🇬🇧DAMN DICE🇬🇧 guitar shredder, Wallis Fourmy celebrated his birthday on the 8th. I hope it rocked as well. 🇬🇧Maverick🇬🇧 have posted the tour dates for their up coming tour. Most of which they are opening for Crashdiet.
Western Europe:
The story of Western Europe IS the Sleazefest, so this section will look much smaller than usual. 🇫🇷Rakel Traxx🇫🇷 are writing new songs. Will we see a 2018 release? 🇨🇭Rusted Guns🇨🇭 are playing at the Baracuda club on March 17th. 🇩🇪Street Hawk🇩🇪 are still in search of a new frontman.
Eastern Europe, and European Russia:
🇨🇿Bad Jokers Cream🇨🇿 are playing the Black Fox live party on March 23rd. 🇨🇿Double Raw🇨🇿 had something important arrive in the mail. Could it be a record contract? We'll find out. 🇨🇿Sweet Leopard🇨🇿 will be having their Spring Sweet fest 5 on April 27th.
Mediterranean:
🇵🇹Affaire🇵🇹 have a cover version of The Beatles classic "I Saw Her Standing There" available.
🇮🇹Cream Pie🇮🇹 are playing at the Circus Club with MILF tonight. 🇮🇹Hell In The Club🇮🇹 played Tom Hell's rock fest last weekend. 🇪🇸Jolly Joker🇪🇸 played in Pucol last night. Is there an Italian tour in the near future for 🇮🇹The Lethal Idols🇮🇹? Maybe on the 26 - 28th of March??? 🇮🇹Sandness🇮🇹 will be dropping the third and final video/single from their 2016 album "Higher & Higher" on March 15th. The song is still being kept a secret. 🇪🇸Street Vipers🇪🇸 played the Rising Star event in Bilbao last night.
Australia, and New Zealand:
The new 🇦🇺Black Alpine🇦🇺 single "Melt The Snow" will be out on March 16th. The new 🇦🇺Crosson🇦🇺 album "Invincible" will be out on April 27th. 🇦🇺Dangerous Curves🇦🇺 released their new lyric video for the title track of their debut album "So Dirty Right". The release date for the LP is April 6th.
🇦🇺Snake Bite Whisky🇦🇺 frontman is now endorsed by Vocalzone lozenges in the UK. 🇦🇺Vicious Addiction🇦🇺 are in Bendigo tonight.
South America, Middle America, and the Caribbean Islands:
🇧🇷Inluzt🇧🇷 are playing at the Imaculados MC tonight.
South Africa/India/Japan/Asia/Middle Eastern:
🇮🇳Girish And The Chronicles🇮🇳 frontman celebrated his birthday on the 9th. And yes, I hope it rocked too! 🇿🇦L.A. Cobra🇿🇦 have been nominated for two categories in the South African Metal Music Awards. The ceremony will be held on April 7th at Rumours Rock City.
