Denman "The Life We Live" Album Review

Formed in the spring of 2016 by brothers Ben, and Dakota Denman, recent Nashville transplants who had a vision: taking the Nashville music scene by storm, with hard rock/ heavy metal songs that are raw and full of attitude. They'll put on a show full of energy that takes you back in time to a sweaty rock show some years ago.

Denman released their debut EP ’The Life We Live’ in 2017 - and what an release it is. Not only is it full-throttle guitar driven 80’s metal, it also has the handy work of none other than Michael Wagener, the man behind so many of the 80’s and 90’s biggest albums ( Metallica, Skid Row, Wasp, White Lion, Poison, Motley Crue, Dokken and the list goes on and on ) .

’The Life We Live’ kickstarts things on a upbeat note, and in no time at all it's obvious that the band has all the boxes checked …..gang chorus ….check, screaming guitar solo….check, lead vocal scream…..check. This leads directly into ‘One Night Love’, more of the same with a killer guitar solo ….almost Racer -x (ish).

But the jewel of the album by far is ‘Miles Away From Home’ this song is so fucking good and catchy, If it was a different era this song had hit written all over it. They are firing on all cylinders! A great guitar track, killer vocals and with a little help from none other than Mark Slaughter on background vocals you just can't go wrong.

By the time you get to ‘High Heels in Leather’ and ‘Wild in the Streets’ you realize that 5 songs just isn’t enough. So what’s next from Denman? Well the boys are currently in the studio with Michael Wagener working on their first full length album……hell yes!
