Wildstreet's Eric Jayk - Interview with Hair Band Heaven

HBH: The band is set to release a new single this week. Can you tell us a little bit about the song ‘Raise Hell’ and can fans expect a full length album in the near future?

Eric: My best friend cowriter/guitarist Jimmie Marlowe presented the idea to me in 2012. He had taken a break from Wildsteet to pursue other musical projects (including writer a rock opera Mr. Goodbar which was highly successful!) but we had continued writing for Wildstreet, Rave La Kill etc etc. By late 2012 the song’s initial demo was done. When we decided to put Wildstreet back together it was the 1st New song we wanted to add into the set and the first single we knew we’d release. It’s a great song... complexity disguised by simplicity all rock and a lot of fun to play live. I think fans will love it!

We have more music in the works. I promised fans new music from Wildstreet in 2017, I promise more 2018!

HBH: Wildstreet has made some great videos in the past. Is there going to be a video for the new song ‘Raising Hell’ ?

Eric: Hey thanks guys!

Yes, there will be a video for ‘Raise Hell.’

HBH: Wildstreet is based out of New York, what’s the current rock/metal scene like in NYC?

Eric: The rock scene is pretty thriving, there's a lot of great rock/Metal bands!

Eric: Yes, Irving Plaza is December 14th. Please visit our Facebook page www.facebook.com/Wildstreetnyc to purchase tickets to the show. Wildstreet please purchase tickets directly from us! We have to pound the pavement for this one, and in my opinion having our release gig at Irving Plaza makes it worth it. We need support from our fans though in order to make this a success! Come out, it’ll be fun!

Other dates are pending for 2018, but this show is super important ...

HBH: The band took a few years off before recently getting back together, what was the catalyst for getting the band back out there again?

Eric: ...what the world needs now is to rock! We’re back....forget the past, the time is now!

HBH: Describe Wildstreet for someone who may not be familiar with your music?

Eric: Wildstreet is the band that all the girls, their mothers, and sisters love and all the dudes wanna be!

HBH: What is the best way for fans to support artist these days?

Eric: Many ways, the usual come to shows, buy our music/merchandise, but also to ‘like,” “follow,” “mention” the band on social networks, posting pictures/videos and links are also helpful and appreciated tremendously!

HBH: Are there any artists that you just can’t go without? Who created that spark and who continues to inspire you?
