Affaire : ‘Neon Gods’ Album Review

Years of stage and studio hard work within the Portuguese rock and metal scene -in bands like Attick Demons, Dawnrider, Divine Lust or Iberia - paved the way for AFFAIR , founded in late 2011 with the debut single “Born Too Late”, The following couple of years were marked by live appearances including shows as support act for Paul Di Anno and House Of Lords and another single and first official video "Highway Affair".

The band’s debut album "At First Sight" was mastered at “The Groove Room” in San Rafael, California, a studio run by Davy Vain, who oversaw the whole analog mastering process was released worldwide by Demon Doll Records in September 2015.

Fast forward a few years and the band is back with its brand new EP album "Neon Gods". The songs on this album have a soaring 80's rock feel mixed with a sunset strip punk and sleaze sensibilities. The opening tune of "Neon Gods" is pure in your face sleaze metal, a bit reminiscent of Hardcore Superstar with a touch of EZO thrown in for good measure. "All Messed Up" is another fine and fiery kick ass rocker, "Shotgun Marriage" is all rock n roll . "The Hitcher" has a bit of an old school Quiet Riot vibe to it, and that's a good thing. The band closes out the EP with an amped up version of the classic Beatles song 'I Saw Her Standing There'.

Affaire and "Neon Gods" is definitely worth checking out!
