ALICE COOPER MAKES MUSICAL AND MONETARY TRIBUTE TO LEMMY AT WACKEN

August 6, 2017

The original king of shock rock Alice Cooper was part of a multi-pronged tribute to the late Motörhead bassist/singer Lemmy Kilmister on the final day of the annual Wacken mudbath. Onstage, Cooper finished his set with a spirited version of "Ace Of Spades". Earlier in the day, before going on, Alice announced that we was donating $10,000 to the Wacken Foundation, which seeks to help developing bands, struggling to get to the next level.

Upon the Alice Cooper contingent vacating the giant Harder stage, Wacken president Thomas Jensen appeared to announce that the just released Motörhead version of David Bowie's "Heroes" will be the official Wacken anthem for 2018, upon which the video was shown and nearly 80,000 fans (at Jensen's request, as a tribute to the late icon) sang along.

Alice Cooper has released this new video, taking you behind the scenes of the photo shoot for his new album, Paranormal, out now via earMUSIC.
